Business Analyst Commerce

Short Description

The Business Analyst supports the commercial organization by providing analyses, insights, and recommendations that improve data-driven decision-making and optimization of the overall commercial chain. The role focuses on commercial performance, assortment productivity, inventory quality, operational efficiency, and customer and market insights across Kooyman’s categories and channels. The Business Analyst translates data into actionable insights and supports continuous improvement initiatives across Commerce mainly Category Management, Operations, and Supply Chain and contributes to cross-functional projects and omnichannel development initiatives. This role reports to the Director of Commerce.

Full Description

  • Analyze sales performance, inventory development, assortment productivity, and operational KPIs across categories, stores, and channels.
  • Identify trends, operational risks, and commercial opportunities.
  • Support Commerce with data-driven insights and business recommendations.
  • Develop, maintain, and optimize commercial reports, dashboards and management information.
  • Prepare periodic business performance updates for Commerce.
  • Translate complex data into clear and actionable management information.
  • Ensure data quality and KPI consistency and is a key user of Power BI for the Commerce department.
  • Support assortment analyses, product rationalization, and category reviews.
  • Identify opportunities to improve inventory quality and chain efficiency.
  • Contribute to cross-category and cross-functional improvement projects.
  • Support initiatives related to omnichannel retail development and operational excellence.
  • Analyze customer behavior, market developments, and commercial trends.
  • Develop business cases and scenario analyses to support strategic decision-making.
  • Act as analytical business partner for Commerce and related departments.
  • Promote a data-driven culture and continuous improvement mindset.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Data Analytics, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in business analysis, commercial analytics, retail analytics or supply chain analysis.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills and strong experience with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI, including dashboard development and data visualization.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience within retail, DIY, building materials, wholesale, or FMCG.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and supply chain processes.
  • Experience with ERP or retail information systems.
